Big.
WELCOME.
We are a mom, dad and four-year-old hoping to grow our family with a son or daughter who we will just surround with love. We are easy-going, understanding and most of all, accepting. Also, to us, it's very important that any child has the chance for open contact and relationships with their birth family; to know their full family on their terms.
We adopted Max in 2016, and have been in love with him since the day he was born. Already we feel the same way about the brother or sister who joins us.
We think siblings are amazing in general but especially for some adopted kids, so they have someone else who understands their exact experience.
US, FOR STARTERSWe like adventures, small or large. The big ones? We save up and travel as much as we can, including taking Max to Scotland last year. He loved the hiking but not the wind.

Jason is a hands-on dad (see the Halloween costume he made, below) and excellent baseball player. He works as a project manager and is great at planning and IT logistics. In addition, Jason is good at cartoon voices and sounds. (Yoda is one of Max's favorites.)
Lisa thought she was energetic before she met Max. (He wins, but she likes to make it close.) She loves kids, likes to cook and to work on our garden. Also she is a TV journalist for the great P.B.S.
Max is super smiley. He has eagle-eye vision for anything interesting. A great playmate, he is wonderful with other kids. Also, he is a bit of a flirt, and is tremendous fun to take to a grocery store. He loves everyone there.
Max was born under a bright moon, a week early. We raced to the hospital when we heard he was coming. The hardest part was how long it took the overnight security worker to fill out the name tags letting us into the hospital. We could not wait to get inside.
PROJECTS. WE CAN BE A GOOD CRAZY.Jason turned Max's wagon into this costume last Halloween - one of those "Claw" vending machines. Yes, he did all of this himself.
We have a long list of loves and likes:
We live in the Washington D.C. area, in a house just across the river in Virginia. Lisa is a native of the area and has a special love for the city. We were married downtown, took the subway to our church and we are confirmed bridge crossers.
